Our Theme’ merupakan salah satu praktik budaya positif bagi murid di lingkungan kelas maupun lingkungan sekolah pada umumnya. Our Theme’ berasal dari akronim terima kasih, maaf, tolong, dan tabe’ (permisi). Hal ini dapat dilihat dalam keseharian murid di sekolah dengan hal-hal kecil seperti jika mereka membutuhkan bantuan tak jarang hanya langsung mengambil barang temannya. Hal ini juga berdasarkan pertimbangan tentang kearifan lokal yang ada di Sulawesi Selatan khususnya kota Makassar. Class I students are a class that requires more patience in guiding and guiding them to implement positive habits in their daily lives. Elementary school students, especially class I, are children who like to imitate things around them both in the school environment and outside of school, especially around where they live.. This is also a challenge for me, because students are used to hearing and seeing how to behave in their home environment and surroundings.
It is not uncommon for some parents or guardians of students to indirectly set a bad example, so that children often imitate things they see around them and apply them also in the school environment. One example that I have seen in the school environment, There were parents who wanted to pick up their children in front of the class and communicated poorly as parental figures and especially in the school environment at that time. From colleagues, sometimes there is still a lack of collaboration to implement existing programs at school and usually enthusiasm at the beginning and on an ongoing basis still needs to be improved..
The first thing I did as an initial step was to invite the school principal as a leader and colleagues to coordinate and discuss the decline in character that occurred after the pandemic. covid-19. Then we agreed to provide a habit of positive culture in the school environment by implementing and getting used to saying thank you if someone else has given a gift or has been helped., say sorry if you accidentally made a mistake, say the word help if you need help, and say the word tabe' (permisi) if you want to pass in front of others. To make it easier to remember these four magic words, So we agreed to use the word Temang Ta' as an acronym for thank you, maaf, tolong, and tabe'.
Furthermore, I introduced this Temang Ta' and included it in the class beliefs that I created together with the students in class I according to mutual agreement. They were very enthusiastic in making class beliefs together, where they are involved in formulating class beliefs directly.
"Children, "Today we will create a class belief that will later become our reference for doing good things in class." I said while preparing post it to be distributed to each student.
"Teacher, teacher's mother, what class beliefs are?said one of the disciples.
“The kids are great, Class beliefs are good and positive things about behavior or actions that we can do and all members of our class agree with them." I answered them with a smile.
“oh, I see, ma'am." They said with enthusiastic and curious faces.
Then, I distributed it to each student post it. I give directions to students to write down things they can do in class and stick them in front of the class. After everything is finished gluing, I read one by one and invited the students to discuss what they had written to formulate it into class beliefs and it was mutually agreed upon, one of which was getting used to saying Temang Ta'.
There is a class belief that has been created, makes it easy to always remind them and accompany them to apply Temang Ta' in their daily lives in class and outside of class. One example is when the learning process is ongoing and they are doing assignments. One of the students in class wanted to borrow an eraser from his friend, but forgot to say the word help and at that time I was nearby. I immediately reminded the student to say the word please and after being helped say the word thank you. After reminding individually, I also remind students classically so that other students get used to implementing Temang Ta'.
For some time I have been implementing Temang Ta' in my classroom environment, Next, invite all homeroom teachers to collaborate to socialize it in their respective classes. I also invite all subject teachers to collaborate to continue to remind students to always apply Temang Ta' both in the classroom and in the school environment during the learning process in their subjects.. Because as we know, elementary school students are very good at imitating things they see around them, such as the behavior of their teachers at school..
On various occasions, Temang Ta' continues to be socialized and reminded to the school community to be implemented as a positive habit. Like after healthy Saturday activities, The principal or other fellow teachers give directions to always get used to good things like Temang Ta'. Besides that, We also continue to remind students to apply Temang Ta' in the Friday Blessing activities, flag ceremony every Monday and various other activities so that they can get used to it until it becomes a good habit for them. We also invite parents or guardians of students to guide and set a good example for their children in implementing Temang Ta' in their home environment.. Alhamdulillah, we received a very good response from all school members and also parents/guardians of students.
I learned a lot when implementing Temang Ta' as a positive culture at school. Such as the importance of coordination and communication with all relevant stakeholders. Not only that, Collaborating is also very important in doing every positive thing that is done in the school environment, good collaboration with the school principal, colleagues, educational staff, parents of students, and others.
Another lesson I learned was that good things are implemented from the start until they become habits and even become a culture for students, of course necessary role model in implementing it. Therefore, It is important for the school community to provide examples of positive behavior to students so that they can create a positive learning environment, aman, comfortable, and fun. So that students feel happy to be at school and take part in various learning activities and other activities outside of classroom learning.
