- early
After the outbreak Covid-19 end, the end of PJJ Luring in all educational units. At that time I felt relieved because I could meet face to face again with my students in class and continue the learning process as before.. However, a complex problem emerged, almost all classroom teachers experience it. The problem is that many students cannot read, there are even some students in high classes who don't know letters. For example, in class V in the KD Indonesian language lesson content 3.1 Determine the main idea in spoken and written texts . Students cannot determine the main idea in the text because they are not yet fluent in reading.
- Challenge
During face-to-face learning, it turned out that I faced several challenges.
- Some students in high classes do not yet know letters
- Students feel less confident reading in front of the class
- Student learning outcomes After I see the assignments collected, there is a decline in student learning outcomes. This is because students are not yet fluent in reading so they do not understand the questions given by the teacher.
- Action
Finally, we decided to hold a Literacy Program for students who are not yet fluent in reading. We implement this Literacy Program in class before starting learning and after school.
- Change
During my one semester of implementing this Literacy Program, many changes were visible in the students. Because they are used to reading, students become confident in reading aloud in front of the class. For students who initially did not know letters, now they can read even though they are still spelling.
