Some students still have low abilities in mathematical representation, namely 62,16%. Some students do not have visual abilities and rely more on memory/memorization abilities so they are low in algebraic and graphical representation and the effect this has on analytical abilities. On the first problem in the initial study, students do not yet understand the overall concept of integrals, This is related to basic understanding abilities in using integral concepts. Second problem, related to students' mathematical representation abilities which are still low in solving problems about how to change integral symbols into other forms visually/graphically as well as solving everyday problems. Many students still experience difficulties in graphing the area of a definite integral, so this problem must be resolved by providing an appropriate solution.
An innovative learning model is needed in every integral calculus lecture, one of which may be a model project-based learning assisted by Geogebra. Model project-based learning Geogebra-assisted is a learning model that gives lecturers the opportunity to manage learning in class by involving project work with the help of Geogebra software. So that in the end students can improve their mathematical representation skills.
The challenge I face is lesson planning, time, development of teaching materials in the form of Geogebra that relate to real life, student adaptation in learning because it requires a laptop and training students in studying Geogebra.
In responding to challenges, I do learning planning by making a semester learning plan or lesson plan first by adjusting the learning model using a model project-based learning with the help of Geogebra and time adjustments in learning. This challenge is not easy, I made adjustments to the teaching materials about integral calculus in relation to real life which I integrated with the learning model used. The next challenge is, making teaching materials in the form of Geogebra that have been adapted to the material given in class because it requires a lot of time and must be appropriate, you can also use Geogebra. Besides that, next challenge, I also carry out a gradual process of encouraging students to bring their laptops and install Geogebra as well as training students outside of lecture hours so it also takes time, the thought and energy required.
Many changes have occurred in the classroom, including lectures becoming more interactive and interesting, Student activities run well and are more independent in the lecture process. Lectures can also be done anywhere, so that students are freer to choose where to study in groups. Students can also complete projects with the help of Geogebra very well, assigned tasks are carried out on time. Students can present the results of their work/assignments using Geogebra. They are skilled in creating work/assignment results with Geogebra so that the illustrative images provided are visually displayed and easier for other students to understand.. Increase in students' mathematical representation abilities by 40 % dari rata-rata persentase sebelumnya. There are many benefits that can be taken from this learning and hopefully it can inspire other teachers/educators/lecturers.
