In order to foster students' interest in reading, as an effort to improve literacy skills in students, besides creating a storybook reading program 15 minutes before starting learning, Literacy activities are also held together outside the classroom. Over time, students seem bored with activities that simply become a kind of normal routine and students' abilities are limited to reading.
Challenge
I discuss with students and try to dig up more information. Ask questions about what they have read and try to ask them to tell their imagination of a story. However, they seemed confused about what to say.
Maybe because you're not used to it.
Action
From the results of discussions and reflections, I finally created a program for writing daily stories, namely making a book for the students to learn to write down their daily activities.. So that they get used to writing and re-reading their writing and gaining experience- contextual daily experiences. From there, it is easy for them to share their experiences and create solutions based on their own experiences. Alhamdulillah, volume children's books 1 has been printed with the title My Day My Adventure, a book containing writings from students' daily experiences – students at school. Even in picture-making activities, they are used to writing stories from the pictures they make.
Lesson
Students must be guided so that their interests and talents can be facilitated, explore the potential of students. As teachers, it is our duty to discover the potential that students have to be able to grow and develop according to the nature of nature and the times. This book, written with students, is a special memory, for the learning experience that has been passed and the memories of the learning time will continue to be remembered until later.
