For students in Indonesia, English is a foreign language, Understanding and mastering the four basic English skills is a problem in itself. There are 4 basic skills in English, namely Talking (Speaking), Write (Writing), Listening (Listening), and Reading (Reading). These four abilities are continuous with each other. EFL Students (English as a Foreign Language) They are school students in Indonesia in general where they only get English lessons during class. The essence of learning a language is practice, so it is really necessary to practice after learning or understanding something. Awareness of digital literacy and mastery in using technology to learn English must be mastered by teachers and students in order to create effective and productive teaching and learning activities. However, there are also those who think that English lessons are a modernization that will make students forget the local culture around them. Therefore, the use of local culture as a learning object will increase students' knowledge of local culture and create more varied learning so as to attract students' interest in learning English..

Challenge

Learning English at high school level in Indonesia should have entered the intermediate competency stage (lowintermediate until Intermediate) because they should have received initial/beginner English learning (Beginer And Elementary) since junior high school and even elementary school. But what happened in the field, Many students still have difficulty learning at the initial/beginner stage (Beginer And Elementary). This causes teachers to have to repeat learning from the basic stage before moving on to appropriate topics or material in the curriculum. The challenge faced by teachers is how to include the basics of how to understand English, even more, there are many high school students who are less interested in learning in the classroom. Sometimes students' ability or mastery of English is one of the graduate standards that students must achieve and possess when they graduate from school, especially for vocational schools which must be prepared to continue higher education and even enter the world of work. This is implemented at the Muhammadiyah Onion Vocational School, Stems where flat – On average, graduates choose to enter the world of work, so they really need English language competency to be able to prepare themselves to compete in the outside world. Another challenge faced by teachers is, Sometimes students feel bored and fed up with less varied learning methods, especially in online learning which really limits teachers and students from choosing the desired learning method..

Action

The initial theme that teachers carry out is measuring the extent vocabulary that students have,as vocab is a basis for learning English. Vocabulary is a foundation before students learn about 4 skill namely Speaking (Speaking), Write (Writing), Listening (Listening), and Reading (Reading).

The action taken by the teacher was to collaborate with the English teacher and the art teacher to create a project where students formed groups to perform regional dances, where this regional dance has a broad meaning. Then after that the students were given the task of describing the dance they performed in English, starting from the dance ,meaning found in dance, and the lessons implicit in what they practice. With this, their ability or vocab capacity will automatically increase without using boring memorization methods. After they have written a description of the dance they performed, the students will explain what they wrote about the dance by talking in front of their friends about their group's conclusions about the dance performed.. Of course, in the writing and delivery process, teacher assistance is very necessary ,However, mentoring becomes easier because students have gained enthusiasm through varied learning like this.

Lessons or changes

X TKJ uses local cultural dance media 1 And 2 which amounts to 73 child as the object of data collection. Based on achievements during the pre-test and evaluation of students' practical results, at least 70% of the number of students showed a significant increase in their practical results. Apart from being shown in the value, This increase is shown by the development of students in creating English descriptive texts. From the beginning, students only copy and paste what is on the internet after doing it treatment Using local cultural dance provides a more varied basis for English, such as gaining vocabulary, understand how to write English texts and dare to convey the results of discussions in front of friends. Lessons learned include 4 return , describe dance (writing/writing),convey what is written about dance (speaking/talking and reading/reading),listen to what friends explain about dance(listening/hearing or understanding the conversation)

By using friendly media and content they like, Students feel happy and motivated that learning English is fun. When students were asked the question "what do you think about the use of local cultural dance?"The majority of students answered "learning is fun and not boring, There are many new things to be learned and the teachers always provide guidance to the students.".
