Early :

The development of technology and education is growing rapidly. Along with that development, Quality improvement also occurs in various aspects of life whose existence is non-negotiable. As a teacher, I have concerns about this phenomenon, I am worried to see the condition of my students who are not ready to face the rapid development of technology and education as well as improvements in the quality of their lives. The condition of my students was formed because all this time I carried out learning activities that tended to be monotonous, learning activities that only have learning objectives that emphasize the results of complete delivery of the material only, but do not see and process a good learning process.

CHALLENGE :

On that basis, I try to prepare my students to be ready to face this. I think that every learning activity that I do has a learning objective that is not only valuable for the completeness of the learning material, However, the learning objective must also be able to train students to be ready to face the rapid development of technology, education, as well as improving quality in the current era of globalization. So my real challenge is not just to improve the quality of my learning, but also improve my quality as a teacher. To improve your quality as a teacher, I participate in many self-development activities, and to improve the quality of my learning, I try to discuss with colleagues at school and in the community, discuss with the leadership, Discuss with the students too, of course, experimenting with learning models, strategy, and approach to learning until finally I found a formula that was quite effective. This formula is to equip students with critical thinking skills, because of students' critical thinking skills, is the initial capital for students to be able to face the era of globalization which is filled with various kinds of very strict competencies.

ACTION :

To train students' critical thinking skills during learning activities, I did the following steps :

  1. Creating an interactive classroom and classroom atmosphere, where every student can be active during the learning process, This is my initial capital to stimulate students to think critically.
  2. During learning reflection, I give questions whose answers require students to think critically. I apply the 4F reflection model, with the following questions : A) Facts (Incident) : What experiences did you get after taking part in today's lesson?? What good things did you experience in the process? What are your obstacles or difficulties during today's learning process?? What did you do to overcome these obstacles or difficulties??; B) Feelings (Feelings) : how you feel during the learning process? Tell me what made you have that feeling?; C) Findings (Learning) : What lessons did I learn from this process? What new things do you know about yourself after this process??; D) Future (Implementation) : What can you do better if you do something similar in the future? What actions/actions will you take after learning from this incident??
  3. Presenting innovative learning reflections, I present it with the help of an educational technology platform, namely the Padlet application, so that students can be actively involved. This method is also in line with the learning objectives explained at the beginning, namely preparing students to be able to face the rapid development of technology and education.

The stages above have proven effective in training students to think critically, It can be seen from the enthusiasm of the students following the learning reflection that I implemented, different before I applied this reflection in learning.

Learning :

The application of the 4F reflection model assisted by the Padlet application makes students interested and of course also trains students to be proficient in using technology during learning. I consistently apply this stage in every lesson and it has proven effective in training students to think critically. It can be seen from the enthusiasm of the students during the reflection activity, and it can be seen from the answers to the reflection questions I asked, the answer really reflects that my students are now trained to think critically, Some students even commented, "What I liked the most during Indonesian language learning activities with Mr. Gilang was the reflection part of the lesson, because the questions made me realize the importance of learning today's material for my life in the future."
