The good practice carried out is carrying out a literacy movement aimed at cultivating literacy activities aimed at State Middle School students. 1 Upstream, especially in developing reading and writing skills. The encouragement of this culture of literacy is expected to create people with broad vision, innovative and able to think critically

GOOD PRACTICES CARRIED OUT IN STATE MIDDLE SCHOOLS 1 SEKADAU HULU COMPILED BY NURWAHIDAH, S,Pd. KGBN SEKADAU
According to PISA, Indonesia is ranked 10 Lastly, the literacy level is low, namely ranking 62 from 70 country. This low level of literacy also occurs in SMPN 1 Sekadau Hulu Sekadau Regency, This sometimes causes problems in the process of learning activities or other activities carried out in the Education Unit
By carrying out Literacy Movement activities, it is hoped that students' interest will grow, especially in reading and writing, so that reading and writing activities become a culture in our school. Apart from that, by cultivating writing, it is hoped that female students will become interested in it, which will ultimately result in students having good public speaking competence and being able to think critically.
Carrying out the activities of the Literacy Movement is not easy and I myself really understand this. I faced many obstacles, especially related to qualified sources, foster a sense of confidence in the school community that everyone can write, lack of support from the community in the school, especially with regard to human resources who are usually willing to work together to realize this Literacy Movement activity.
Although there were obstacles that occurred starting from the planning process, implementation, and the results we get, but Alhamdulillah, the school principal is very supportive in making it happen, both in terms of facilities and other problems.
In order to make this activity a reality, I try to brainstorm ideas and collaborate with colleagues who are ready to help carry out this activity. To realize this Literacy Movement activity exists 2 program to be implemented, namely that 1). Holding a writing competition in the junior high school environment 1 Sekadau Hulu in commemoration of independence day and during the Pumuda Pledge Day which is combined with Language Month, 2). Facilitate students to write writing and publish it on the school's media.
In these two activities, the enthusiasm of the students was extraordinary, they are very happy, This is proven by the large number of students who took part in this activity.,
As for the changes that occurred after 2 the program is running and starting to color our school, Students often spend time in the library and in front of the madding. Apart from that, students are also starting to enjoy writing and even dare to apply to take part in online writing competitions even though they haven't won yet, but for me this is a good first step.. Because we as educators are not necessarily brave and willing to try to start writing.. Apart from that, the wall boards which were rarely filled are now starting to be busy being decorated with the work of students, either in written form or news snippets or information taken from the internet
