Teacher Web Gamification: KSE and English Differentiated Learning for Lifelong Learners.

• Situation

At the end 2019, The author wants to know to what extent students learn independently at home. It turns out, only 7 percent of students who do. This is a big deal. To find the cause, the author interviewed students and parents.

The results show that students are not used to reading material at home and have limited access to learning resources and family support for students is lacking. Some students admitted that they preferred interacting with their smartphones to watch videos, listening to music, and play games instead of reading. The author feels concerned and wants to find a solution to help students become independent learners who have good language skills and social-emotional competencies.

Although the author is not yet familiar with differentiated learning and social-emotional learning, but by paying attention to the tendency of students who like to use smartphones, authors develop websites to meet their needs. The author conducted a literature review by reading journals and looking for inspiration from YouTube channels, until finally finding an idea to create a website that suits students' needs.

• Challenge

I faced quite a big challenge in developing the website. My limited knowledge in the field of information and communication technology is the main obstacle. To create interactive video and game content on websites, I need to master complex skills, such as 2D and 3D video editing, HTML5 programming, and sound editing.

To overcome this, I looked for information on the internet, read the article, try the app, and learn through tutorials on YouTube. Limited time is also a challenge due to the task of teaching and providing assessments to students. The process of building this website takes a long time because it has to be done in between routine activities.

Besides that, Making students and parents aware of the wise use of smartphones also requires time and process. The importance of the role of parents in supporting children's learning at home needs to be realized so that smartphone use can be used productively. This awareness challenge needs to be answered through cooperation from all parties.

• Action
  
  In an effort to realize differentiated learning, I as a teacher have developed a website. This website has several important menus , such as the Watch and Learn menu which contains independent learning material via video, with, reading, and flash cards. Besides that, there is a practice menu that contains exercises in various formats, like vocabulary, reading, grammar, and dictation, in the form of an interactive game. These menus include::

1. Home Menu

Which contains information about identity website and creation missions website.

2.Menu Watch and learn

This menu contains material for students to study independently with differentiated learning resources to hone their Social Emotional Competencies.

2.a. Video

Contains multimodal text material in the form of varied videos and voice transcripts that make it easier for students to understand the message.

2.b. Song

Contains material in the form of Songs I have chosen to adapt the material taught from several sources. This material will help students improve vocabulary mastery, ideas and the ability to capture the message in the song.

2.c. Readers

Contains reading text accompanied by voice buttons to learn the correct pronunciation.

2. d. Flash cards

Contains images along with descriptive text to train students to increase their vocabulary accompanied by correct pronunciation sounds when reading.

3.Menu Practice

This menu contains exercises in its sub menu which consists of: vocabulary, reading, grammar And dictation with various formats

3.a. Vocabulary

In this exercise, students practice and play mastery of the vocabulary they have acquired on the menu watch and learn.

3.b. Reading

In this exercise, students practice understanding general and specific information from a text, involving the use of vocabulary and high-level thinking.

3.c. Grammar

In this exercise students will sharpen their grammar.

3.d. Dictation

The aim is that students can practice writing with spelling and can express the right ideas.

D. Action

In the classroom, I apply differentiated learning and integrated social emotional learning. The use of this material can be described as follows :

1.In face-to-face implementation outside the classroom, the most effective way in PSE to familiarize and foster a lifelong learning spirit in students is to use the material in website I am with flipped class or blended learning. In this way students will be more autonomous in a way,time, and the type of material and training they want.

2. It was during this face-to-face process that I maximized instructional design in managing the class by differentiating process and results and implementing integrated PSE in learning..

3. In delivering the material in this class, students are grouped heterogeneously to support each other. Students who thrive get support, while advanced students are given more challenging development.

4. Tis the training stage production skill student. To give students freedom to express their language products. Among others are:

a. For spoken language products:

In the form of roleplay,speech,story telling,singing presented in a live show or digitally via video,voice recordings that they can disseminate via social media.

b. For written language products:

Students can write on writing paper,poster,greeting card, letters according to traditional text types, or digital.

E. Reflection on Results and Impact

After deep content website developed and used to support learning. The potential differentiation of students is accommodated by the diversity of materials and language exercises provided.Internal material website This is effective for getting used to, foster and create independence in learning,the cultivation of KSE as well as the growth of lifelong learners. This is proven by student participation in answering leading questions from the teacher at the beginning of learning about the material increased sharply to more students answering. Besides that 85% students stated stated they accessed website and study it independently at home. Furthermore, students stated that they were more motivated to learn via their smartphones with interesting and interactive material from website. Access to material is easy, just by pressing a button, they can access it anywhere and anytime without being hindered by time and space. Apart from that, there is the effectiveness factor of the internal material website this is the feedback that is available when students make mistakes. So they know their mistakes and can repeat them to the maximum. This website helps students become independent learners, merdeka, accustomed to good language input and exposure and become lifelong learners who have good social emotional competence. Positive responses from colleagues who are members of MGMP state that the content of the material website This interesting and good, I will continue to develop it as needed.
