The teacher's job is to provide a learning environment that allows students to grow and develop optimally. Teachers must be able to map students' needs according to their learning readiness, interests and learning profile. Teachers must be able to plan differentiated learning based on mapping by providing various choices, strategy, materials and ways of learning. Through differentiated learning with the integration of 4P model reflection at the end of learning, We strive to provide the best education for students so that they can learn according to their interests and needs. Whatever the small changes, if every teacher does it simultaneously, This big ship called Indonesia will definitely move (Nadiem Makarim).
One time I found students who didn't seem enthusiastic about learning, often bored and even sleepy in the middle of learning. At the end of the lesson, it seems that they are not maximally able to absorb the material that has been studied today at school. They tend to be quiet and less active in learning.
Because that's the challenge that arises, I am committed to creating learning that is fun and more pro-student, namely by using differentiated learning integrated with 4P model reflection. My first step is to prepare and carry out a diagnostic assessment to determine student readiness. Followed by a non-cognitive test conducted by interview to determine students' interests and learning styles. I then put all the information I got into a lesson plan, learning criteria, worksheet, assessments and assessment rubrics. Based on the results of the assessment, I can map students based on their learning style, namely Visual, Auditory and Kinesthetic. To start implementing learning, The step I take is to build closeness with students. I do morning habits by welcoming them before entering the classroom. With a humorous atmosphere, close and friendly to them.
Then carry out apperception at the beginning of learning by providing motivation and positive affirmations to students. Don't forget, to foster student and teacher commitment during the learning process, students are involved in forming class beliefs. Students write down the dream class they hope for. This will build a shared commitment to learning. Furthermore, to foster students' enthusiasm for learning, This is done by asking a trigger question first, which is then followed by conveying the learning objectives. Next, the teacher distributes worksheets to students as a learning guide. Students are divided into groups based on their learning styles. In groups they explore the learning content.
For students who have an auditory learning style, they learn through learning videos viewed on laptops so as not to disturb students with different learning styles. For students who have a visual learning style, they are accommodated by reading interesting posters and other reading sources. For students who have a kinesthetic learning style, they learn through observation and experimentation. Within the group they receive the same proportion of learning assistance. Learning in class looks very fun and full of enthusiasm. At the end of learning, students create a 4P Reflection Model consisting of Events, Feelings, Learning, and Changes with interesting shapes and decorations of their version. By making a reflection on the 4P Model at the end of the lesson, can train students to express opinions and aspirations in the learning process that has been studied today. This greatly affects their absorption of the material they have studied at today's meeting. And it can also increase students' creativity to create 4P Module Reflections with their own characteristics.
With differentiated learning with the integration of reflection on the 4P model, there have been many big changes in the learning process and the enthusiasm for learning in students. A lesson that can be learned from a small teacher's action, which provides very significant changes in students. A pleasant learning environment is also created which is more pro-student, of course, Students become more enthusiastic until the end of the lesson because they learn according to their learning style. And maximized with 4P model reflection activities at the end of learning.
