Good practice elaboration

In a global era like today, a great variety of jobs and professions were born and developed. Even, Many of these professions or jobs have not been accommodated by the world of education (There are no majors or areas of expertise yet) but there are quite a lot of opportunities and interest. For example, social media consultant, content creator and so on. Not only that, Intense competition in the business world and in the world of work requires students to have adequate skills and experience in order to compete and survive in society..

At the school where I teach, namely SMKN 2 Pacet, the majority of the people are agricultural laborers who live with low economic and educational levels. This situation makes students reluctant to continue their profession as agricultural laborers and prefer to do other work which is considered to be able to make a difference to the family's economic level.. However, Many of the students end up returning to become agricultural laborers because when they graduate they do not have sufficient competence to meet the needs of the industrial and business world. Even, Many also end up unemployed because they are reluctant to work as agricultural laborers and do not have enough insight regarding the type of job/profession/business that suits their talents/interests/abilities that they can do after graduating from school..

Trusted as a P5 planner in schools, I am moved to at least reduce the problem above. Then I worked together with all the teachers under the guidance of the principal. I coordinate with the PKK teacher, P5, BKK schools and DUDI to analyze and find out about the various professions/jobs/types of business that are currently popular, including studying to project possible jobs/professions/businesses that may have potential in the future. I am very grateful for the support from the school, namely the Principal and teachers who are very positive plus partners from DUDI who are willing to help me in conducting research.

The challenges I faced at that time were:, regarding ways to facilitate students in developing their talents/interests/and abilities with minimal funds. Apart from that, I also find it quite difficult to synchronize the implementation of activities with learning, especially for classes XI and. Then what form of activity is most appropriate for developing talent, students' interests and abilities so that students can have the ability to choose the right job/profession/business according to them personally so that when they graduate, students will not be unemployed and can improve their family's standard of living.

Finally, I tried to package the activities with the concept of work simulation. This work/professional simulation activity is a forum for students to promote and develop their talents, interests and abilities in various fields. Apart from being an effort to introduce various types of jobs and professions to students, this activity also aims to equip students with the skills and competencies needed in the world of work/industry and the business world.. This activity is not limited to introduction and provision related to work in industry and business but includes various professions in the arts field such as painters., craft artist, dancer, singer etc. under the umbrella of P5 with a work theme (for class X with kurmer) and PKK (for class XI, XII for k13) where for approximately one month the students will be given information and given the opportunity to choose a variety of professions/jobs/businesses that interest the students. Furthermore, at the end of the learning series, a festival is held where students on the day of the festival play a role and carry out the profession/work/business they are interested in during 3 day. During 3 On this day, students are given the opportunity to show their competence in various ways according to the profession/job/business they choose, including taking care of security for students who want to become security officers., role as waitress/waiter and chef and even act as manager of a restaurant by opening a café that can be visited by students and festival visitors from outside the school. Running a mini cinema where students act as cinema staff/workers, as a technician etc. Display your work in the gallery provided by the school, sing, dancing or even opening stalls and selling or opening their own product supply network which is distributed to various classes as needed.

Apart from the positive response from the students who asked to carry out the simulation program again at the next opportunity. Quite a lot of changes have occurred after the implementation of this work/professional simulation process. If at first the students are less enthusiastic about learning using the usual method then, During carrying out learning through this simulation the students showed enthusiasm, enthusiasm and responsibility as well as a high work ethic in carrying out learning. Then, as a result of carrying out this simulation, students become more aware of the various professions/jobs/businesses that they might choose in the future when they graduate from school.. Not only that, after carrying out this learning creativity, kemampuan berfikir kritis, and mutual cooperation of students is also increasing. Apart from that, it is not uncommon for students to continue to pursue their chosen role while at school, whether by continuing to sell at school or doing business and internships outside of school as well as studying and further exploring and honing their talents and interests according to their needs and choices..
