Provide fun and meaningful learning for students.
The good practice that I have carried out is learning that is fun and meaningful for my students starting from Analysis in the class that I teach, namely class 3 I found that many of my students were reluctant to answer questions, or giving responses, students are embarrassed to express opinions, and also afraid of answering incorrectly so that a passive class is found so that learning feels very boring and only listens to the teacher talking.
The challenge I face is cultivating students' interests and talents, Students feel that mistakes are a threat that is very bad and embarrassing, so that students refuse to advance if told to, pointing hands expresses opinions and also asks questions.
The action I take to create enjoyable learning is starting from the beginning before learning, namely I start with ice breaking which can increase the concentration and enthusiasm for learning of my students and also create a friendly classroom atmosphere for both teacher and student or student and student., and the strategy that I use in the learning process is to apply learning contextually ( For example, when studying nutritional content, students bring rice, side dishes and vegetables from home )so that, and in the learning process students can see directly the objects being studied, This really helps students understand the material and makes students explore their abilities so that each student will be very enthusiastic in giving answers/opinions., and in the learning process we also apply an attitude of mutual respect for friends' opinions where we have agreed to these rules together in a class agreement at the beginning of learning, for example, if we find a friend who wants to express his opinion, we will give applause even though the student's answer is not correct and I as a teacher will eliminate punishment when they make a mistake and from this activity it is hoped that students will get used to respecting each other's opinions and friends who provide answers/responses will no longer feel afraid if they are wrong because all opinions will get a positive response from both the teacher and also from friends..
The lessons learned from the good practices that I applied, I got a positive response from the students, such as increasing student enthusiasm in answering questions or problems given by the teacher. , Students also feel very happy when the learning process takes place because they are given space to export their abilities, The learning atmosphere also feels very active every day, Other responses were also obtained from parents where students independently did assignments/homework at home. I also published this to other colleagues, so that now colleagues have also started to see the issues in class and will discuss what should be done to overcome the issues they face .
