Good practice elaboration

Based on the ANBK results some time ago, we got several unsatisfactory assessment points at our school. After I investigated further, it turned out that one of the reasons was because of the students' experience of carrying out an assessment using a computer for the first time. Students' lack of skill in operating computers and lack of literacy are factors causing the decline in ANBK results.

The challenge I face is how to increase students' literacy interest so that the expected learning material can be absorbed well. Based on this problem, I tried a strategy by applying the knowledge I had gained through competency improvement activities, namely utilizing Google features and utilizing student learn.id accounts which had been provided by the government for free.. Using Google Forms as a form of assessment is one of my choices for integrating learning material with technological advances in the field of digitalization..

The activity I did was make an assessment using Google Form. The appearance of the assessment is designed to be more attractive so that students' interest in literacy also increases by inserting pictures or a video in the assessment.. The use of Google forms also further improves students' skills in operating computers. Apart from that, the literacy and numeracy assessment questions available in PMM can also be imported directly into Google Form so that students will get used to being presented with the numeracy literacy assessment model that is usually presented in ANBK questions.. I carried out this activity in stages to find out the extent of positive changes that occurred with this strategy.

Initially, limited facilities were an obstacle, To get around this, students are asked to bring gadgets they have from home and carry out assessments in turns using the cellphones of their friends who have finished working first.. To overcome this, currently our school has made efforts to procure several computer units so that students can use them for the learning process.

The results of this activity for me were extraordinary. The scores obtained using digital-based assessments are much better compared to carrying out assessments using the usual manual method. There are even some students who end up getting addicted and asking when else they will be asked to bring a cellphone and do questions like now. Students' enthusiasm for learning increases and their enthusiasm for this assessment model is very great. This activity only started a few weeks ago and I plan to consistently do it with the hope that the next ANBK results will be better and increase even more..
