Developing students' social awareness through eating together is a form of implementation of KHD's philosophy that education is a seeding place for the seeds of culture in society.. Where education can become a space for practice, a place for the growth and development of human values that can be passed on or inherited.
GROWING AND DEVELOPING STUDENTS' SOCIAL AWARENESS
THROUGH MEAL TOGETHER
SMKN 7 Pangkep is one of the schools located in Pangkep district with approximately the number of students 200 a person consists of 4 department of skills competency. Thank God, I was given the mandate to become the head of the institution's financial accounting expertise competency as an additional task from the school principal.
Our school has received assistance as a Center of Excellence Vocational School and this year received further assistance from the advanced scheme. Teachers and students have been trained to understand and apply the independent curriculum since the year 2022 Yesterday. So it is hoped that school programs can improve wellbeing students . Teachers collaborate, innovate and make changes that can improve wellbeing students. Several teachers have also participated in the driving teacher program, namely as facilitators, practical teacher and driving teacher.
Through this independent curriculum, it is also hoped that parents will be involved in the growth and development of students as well as good habits for students, for example providing supplies for school and paying attention to their children's learning at home..
I observed that apart from the activities in implementing the independent curriculum, there are still several things that need to be improved and that are considered to need attention, namely social disparities in students.. This gap is caused by differences in social background, parental economics etc , If this is allowed to drag on, it can trigger bullying , friction and even physical violence.
Based on observations of the potential that our school has and the challenges that exist, So I try to foster social awareness among students in the institutional financial accounting department ( AKL) through sitting with teachers and students while eating as a form of togetherness, share, empathy, and love. The activity steps are: :
There are things that students are expected to grow and take with them when they graduate/graduate as well as characters that they can apply in the work environment later..
