Good practice elaboration

Before the school year starts, All teachers carry out work meeting activities or usually abbreviated as Raker. At the Raker, The teacher evaluates the learning he has done during the year and plans the learning he will do in the next school year. Apart from learning at school, Teachers also plan learning activities outside of school. One of them is a field trip.

Field trips are carried out by students every year because it is a routine school program. So far, Field trips are done just for "fun" like a picnic whose main purpose is to refresh from routine and pay less attention to learning content. The past two years, field trips have started to increase. This activity is starting to pay attention to the learning content for students, but the activity still tends to be "talkative" compared to the field trip activities that are currently popular. For example, When many schools do outbound activities, we also do the same thing. So activities do not pay attention to student needs, just joining in.

Based on these, I invite teachers to evaluate field trip activities and discuss them so that the activities suit the students' needs. Finally, the teachers planned activities outside of school and agreed that the field trip would be divided into 3 group, namely class 1-3, class 4-5, and class 6. From the three field trip groups, I conveyed the idea of an activity which would be the first activity carried out by the students of Bina Scholar Islamic Elementary School, namely Expedition for class 6.

The expedition that I am carrying out is inspired by activities at two schools that I saw on social media. Even though the school is intended for junior high school level. But I think, This activity can be carried out in elementary schools as well as at high levels. The exedition that I convey is a class student 6 will explore several tourist attractions in Jakarta using public transportation, yaitu Commuter Line, TransJakarta, and MRT. The meeting point is at the Commuter Line station and the return point is at the MRT station. Besides that, for lunch and snacks, Students will eat at food stalls or food stalls.

Because this activity is something new for the teacher, students, and school, So this activity received mixed responses, some are positive and some are normal. I saw, The response from most teachers was positive. Moreover, when I explained the aim and purpose of this activity, students who were used to being dropped off and picked up, some even those who had never taken public transportation, had different experiences.. Apart from that, students will learn from the Ceramic Museum, National Library, and Istiqlal. Naturally, The activity will end with reflection accompanied by the class teacher.

After teachers, especially class teachers 6 agreed to this expedition, I immediately submitted the budget to the school treasurer. Didn't expect it, It turns out there is no budget for this activity, because of class 6 It wasn't planned that the field trip was motivation for a school exam. Finally, We use this budget for expeditions. Besides that, The obstacle predicted by the treasurer is the use of e-money to ride public transportation. I also confirmed this.

The obstacles that occur are a challenge for me. I took the initiative to convey this activity to parents along with the objectives and description of the activity. Then, I conveyed the obstacles faced, namely the use of e-money. Welcome dipper, The parents responded well. They will even provide their e-money for students to use during activities.

On the day of the activity, students are dropped off by their parents at the commuter line station. They have brought ammunition, namely snacks and drinks and don't forget e-money. Students queued to enter the train in crowded conditions because that was the time the workers left. But they remained cheerful and enthusiastic. This can be seen from his happy face even though he is standing among the passengers. The journey to the museum was smooth without any significant obstacles, including making pottery from clay.

An interesting event was when you wanted to have lunch after completing activities at the Ceramic Museum. We look for places to eat that fit the money the students bring. They are allowed to carry a maximum amount of money 75 thousand. They are the ones who will manage their money so that they have enough for snacks and lunch.

Initially we went to a fast food restaurant but because it was quite expensive, so we decided to find a padang restaurant. We walked along the main road in the city but couldn't find a restaurant. Finally we walked along Jalan Asemka to look for a place to eat. It turned out that the place to eat that we expected was not there even though we had walked very far.

Because the day was very hot and the students looked tired and hungry, we decided to eat at a street stall. They order the food that is sold there. Someone ordered meatballs, siomay, soto, and satay. Even though the atmosphere in that place was very crowded with workers around Jalan Asemka, the heat was intense and sweat was pouring down, they still try to enjoy the food they choose.

The next trip is to the mosque at City Hall then to the National Library and Istiqlal Mosque. While at the National Library, They were very happy and even amazed by the very tall building filled with books. Therefore, they read books from floor to floor.

Afternoon, We went to the Istiqlal Mosque by car from an online motorcycle taxi. Arriving at Masid Istiqlal, Those who initially felt tired became cheerful and enthusiastic again. Most of them were visiting Istiqlal for the first time.

They lead the Asr prayer led by me. After that, they rolled their bodies on the soft mosque carpet. We see they don't feel tired. This can be seen when they play chase and other things in the space above the mosque.

After all the students and teachers and I had finished the Asar prayer, we took the MRT home. This is also the first time experience for most of the students. Until finally they met their parents at the Lebak Bulus MRT station.

Due to time it is not possible to reflect on activities using the 4F model (Fact, Feel, Find, and Future) So I asked students to do reflection activities the next day at school.

Based on the activities above, I can learn that students will be enthusiastic and happy when learning is varied and not monotonous. Moreover, the learning is direct from the resource person. Besides that, Learning is a valuable experience for students so that it can be remembered well and is useful for them from adolescence to old age.
