Early
At the beginning of its establishment, schools began implementing the independent curriculum in the first year, namely the academic year 2023-2024. This is a new and historic step for all school members. Moreover, we are a board of teachers at State Middle Schools 5 Sekadau Hilir must think about starting to prepare KOSP which is an important part in implementing the independent curriculum.
We still learn very little guidance and guidance together with our colleagues. We do this to gain understanding in carrying out these activities. We finally started to put it together by communicating a lot with other school colleagues who had implemented the independent curriculum, coordinating with school supervisors, and fellow teachers at other schools. We also conducted a short interview with the principal of the Force driving school 1 in our area. We do this in order to get a good understanding.
CHALLENGE
In compiling the KOSP document (Educational Unit Operational Curriculum) is not easy. There are many things that must be discussed with all stakeholders in the school. Starting from a discussion on determining the KOSP team by the school principal, involvement of the school committee, interviews with several students regarding P5 as well as matters related to gathering teams for meetings and work are things that take up quite a lot of time and energy. Another thing that is also important to think about is also related to looking at the school's readiness to implement it in the education unit. The hope is that the KOSP document will not just be a document. And the most important thing is that this preparation is not the work of just one person or school principal, but this work is a team job. Therefore, The principal formed a team and appointed me as KOSP team leader.
ACTION
According to the school principal's decision letter, I, who was appointed as the KOSP team leader, finally started to make an agreement with my fellow teachers to create several teams and arrange them according to the component requirements in the KOSP document..
Through consultation between the principal and the school supervisor, Finally, the KOSP team that had been formed started working at the appointed times. Each team discussed carefully, The team involves all stakeholders so that the KOSP results can truly summarize all student-centered learning needs.
After the discussion within the team is complete, The team makes a presentation in front of other group teams. This is done to obtain valuable input from groups directly involved in preparing the KOSP. The benefit of this presentation is of course to get better KOSP document results provided that this curriculum can be implemented in accordance with school characteristics and student needs and can summarize all student-centred learning..
Bearing in mind the limited time and other busy schedules of team mates and coupled with the uniqueness and complexity of compiling all the aspects that must be included in KOSP, So this preparation took place not in one meeting. The team agreed to hold several meetings and revise the document based on input from other group teams until finally the KOSP document was truly felt to represent the school's characteristics..
LESSON
Hal yang benar-benar dapat dirasakan setelah bergulat bersama tim dalam kelompok saat penyusunan dokumen KOSP ini adalah munculnya rasa saling menerima dan menghargai pendapat rekan lain. Suppressing feelings of selfishness to prioritize the realization of good thoughts for the progress of the school and the growth of a sense of family.
Another lesson that came was that I personally learned to guide a team to achieve common goals. Be patient with disagreements and learn to be consistent with time so that KOSP documents are completed on time.
