One day, parents from the age group came 4-5 year expressed his complaints to me about the students' activities in class which seemed to just be playing, not learning to read and write with guidebooks or notebooks. I will give a brief explanation about this, However, my explanation cannot answer all questions due to the very short time. Through these conversations, my desire to involve parents in the educational process at school emerged. Saya percaya jika orang tua dapat ikut serta mendukung proses pendidikan anak disekolah maupun dirumah maka anak akan dapat menunjukkan perkembangannya secara maksimal.
Sebagian banyak orang tua murid masih menggunakan pola pengasuhan lama. Sehingga tuntutan anak usia dini belajar CALISTUNG (baca tulis hitung) secara eksplisit menjadi tantangan saya.
Menghadapi tantangan tersebut saya berinisiatif membuat Parenting Class (Kelas Orang tua). Kegiatan parenting class saya adakan 1 kali dalam satu bulan. Kegiatannya meliputi:
- Uji diri : Orang tua menjadi pembawa acara secara bergilir
- Sharing is caring : Guru sharing rencana bulanan, perkembangan murid dan berbagi cara dalam memaksimalkan tumbuh kembang murid (tema yang disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan orang tua).
- Orang tua Berdaya : Orang tua menjadi tutor/ narasumber (membuat snack bucket,dll).
After the program runs, The change that I feel is that the level of parental trust in the school has increased, In particular, parents can help explain the importance of early childhood learning while playing to prospective parents of new students.
